USING FLOWERS AS A TOOL
Good Samaritan Floral started as a simple concept.
How can I utilize my gifts as a creator and artist to give back to my community in way that is inclusive, honest, sustainable and beautiful?
I spent a lot of time during my undergraduate degree, at the University of Missouri - Kansas City, learning about flowers and incorporating them into my art. I quickly remembered how enjoyable this was and wondered if I could turn this into something bigger. So, I began reading and watching florists at work and learning about flowers, how to take care of them and how to grow them.
I began freelancing and shadowing and met two incredibly talented floral mentors along the way. Lily and Betsy at Lily Floral Designs. They've taught me mechanics, arranging, processing and so much more. Lily and Betsy were instrumental in my growth as a learning florist and have had such an impact on me as a person.
Fast forward to today. Good Samaritan Floral has been one of the biggest blessings in my life.
We have successfully done two Mother's Day pop-ups at The City House/ Church of the Four Corners in Independence, MO, done multiple fundraising pop-ups in Kansas City, MO, designed for so many incredible local weddings and traveled for one beautiful bride and groom in Springfield, MO. We truly feel so blessed with an overwhelming amount of support.
Thank you to each and every one of you who has poured into GS in some form or fashion. Whether that be trusting us with the flowers for your wedding, helping at a GS pop-up, donating, buying flowers or just following along on social media. You are so valuable and we are SO thankful for you.
